Riguardo Sanja
I hold a PhD in Cognitive Science and an MA in Psychology, with international and interdisciplinary postdoctoral experience in Human–Computer Interaction (Belgium, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland) and Mental Health (Austria). As an active researcher with 30 peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 14, I have first-hand experience of the realities of academic research—from developing research questions and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to navigating peer review and publishing in academic journals. Having worked across diverse European academic environments, I understand the standards, expectations, and challenges researchers face at every stage of the research journey.

Supporting Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD Students & Early-Career Researchers
Are you studying in English (online, in person, or abroad), or required to write, present, or publish academic work in English?
Are you struggling to formulate a research question that actually works?
Feeling overwhelmed by statistical data, quantitative analysis, qualitative coding, supervisor feedback, reviewer comments, or the pressure of defending your thesis?
You've collected your data but don't know how to turn it into a compelling academic argument.
Or maybe you've received a manuscript rejection and aren't sure how to move forward. You don't have to navigate these challenges alone.
I help students and early-career researchers move from feeling "stuck" to becoming confident and defensible in their academic work.
Through personalised mentorship, I help you develop the structural and critical thinking skills, methodological precision, and argumentative clarity needed to succeed in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Mental Health, and Medical research.
I support qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research design, guiding you through the full research process—from formulating research questions or hypotheses, to designing studies, collecting data, analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and interpreting findings.
My goal is not to do the work for you. My role is to help you think more clearly, make stronger methodological decisions, and become confident in defending every aspect of your research independently. In my experience as an active researcher—and through discussions with academic colleagues—university professors and supervisors often operate under significant time constraints, given the demanding combination of teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities. Within this context, additional structured guidance can help students progress with greater clarity and produce more coherent and robust research outcomes.
Who I Help
Bachelor's Students Struggling to identify a clear and feasible research question. Unsure how to achieve the academic standard your supervisor expects. Need guidance structuring your thesis or final-year project.
Master's Students Stuck in the "data dump" phase. Need support interpreting statistical or qualitative data. Want to transform findings into meaningful, theory-driven arguments.
PhD Candidates Fighting for coherence across chapters. Managing committee expectations and conflicting feedback. Trying to maintain momentum and keep the dissertation on track.
Early-Career Researchers Navigating the "black box" of peer review. Unsure how to respond to reviewer comments or revise manuscripts effectively. Seeking strategies to improve publication success.
How I Support You
1. Research Design
Identify weaknesses in hypotheses, research questions, methodology, and study design before they become major problems later in the research process. I support qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research design, ensuring methodological coherence from start to finish.
2. Data Interpretation
Transform statistical, quantitative, and qualitative findings into clear, evidence-based academic arguments grounded in relevant theory.
3. Reviewer Strategy
Decode confusing reviewer feedback and convert it into structured, actionable revision plans.
4. Defence Preparation
Simulate defence and examination conditions to help you articulate your decisions confidently and defend your work effectively.
Why Work With a Research Mentor in the Age of AI?
AI can explain concepts, summarise literature, and generate ideas. However, it cannot understand the unique context of your research project, the expectations of your supervisors, the methodological limitations of your study, or the strategic decisions required to build a rigorous academic argument. Research success requires more than producing text. It demands critical thinking, theoretical coherence, methodological judgement, and the ability to justify and defend your decisions. If you already use AI tools, that's perfectly fine. I help you use them responsibly and critically while ensuring your work aligns with academic integrity standards and genuinely reflects your own understanding. You remain the author and expert on your own research. Ethical Standards I do not write theses, assignments, dissertations, or manuscripts on behalf of students or researchers. The purpose of this mentorship is to help you: Think more clearly and critically. Justify your methodological choices. Strengthen your academic arguments. Interpret and communicate your findings effectively. Develop confidence in discussing and defending your work. By the time we finish working together, you will be the person who understands your research best.
How to Get Started
Step 1: Send me a message describing: Your current stage (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or Early-Career Researcher). Your field of study. The main challenge you're facing.
Step 2: We'll arrange a free 30-minute discovery call to determine whether my expertise matches your project's needs and discuss how I can best support you.
Step 3: Through focused, practical sessions, we'll develop a clear strategy to help you make measurable progress and achieve your academic goals.
Whether you're struggling with research design, statistical or qualitative analysis, thesis writing, or publication strategy, my aim is simple: to help you move from confusion to clarity and from uncertainty to confidence—so you can produce research you truly understand and can defend with conviction.

I have known Sanja for 17 years and can confidently recommend her as an academic tutor and mentor. From the beginning of our friendship, she has been someone I could comfortably discuss a wide range of topics due to her thoughtful perspective, strong analytical skills, and ability to understand complex issues. She is an excellent listener who asks insightful questions and encourages deeper thinking.
Despite living far apart for most of our friendship, we have remained close, and she has consistently been a source of support, understanding, and encouragement through different stages of life. Sanja is patient, kind, highly intelligent, and dedicated in all that she does. Her ability to connect with others while providing thoughtful guidance makes her exceptionally well-suited for tutoring and mentoring students. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking academic support, encouragement, and a positive learning experience.I was feeling completely lost with my PhD thesis and couldn't figure out where I was going wrong. My supervisor was great, but he just too busy to help me with all the times I needed, and as often as I wanted to clarify and discuss. Sanja was a lifesaver. She spotted problems right away that I hadn't even thought of, and she stuck with me through the whole thing. Whenever I got feedback from my supervisor on my design, methods, or stats, Sanja helped me make sense of it all and put the pieces together. She also has the best tips and tricks for writing tools and staying organized, and she really kept me going when I wanted to give up—which happened more than a few times. Finishing a PhD was a really stressful process. I saw that Sanja is on Superprof now (she was guiding me before having profile on Superprof), and I just had to write this. I was terrified for my defense, but she helped me get ready and gave me such good advice. By the time I had to present, I felt so much more confident. She helped me realize that, at the end of the day, I’m the best expert on my own research. She turned a project that felt scary and confusing into something I could actually defend. I really recommend her—I’m already hoping she can help me with my next research papers!
I am almost finished with my Finance thesis, and I couldn't have done it without Sanja.
I was feeling very stressed and stuck with all my data, but Sanja helped me break everything down into easy steps. She didn't just fix my work for me; she taught me how to understand it so I could do it myself. She helped me feel much more confident and prepared for my defense.
If you are struggling with your thesis, I highly recommend her. She is very patient, smart, and truly cares about her students.I’ve watched Sanja work for years, and I’ve never met anyone more dedicated to academic integrity and quality. She’s not just an expert in her field—she’s incredibly supportive of her students. She knows how hard it is to balance supervisor expectations, writing pressures, and the general stress of research, and she’s excellent at helping students clear those hurdles. She’s honest, hardworking, and genuinely wants to see the people she works with succeed. You’ll be in great hands.
I have known Sanja for many years—we met back when we were psychology students. We’ve been through a lot of study stress together, and she has always been the person one could turn to to make sense of something complicated. I think she is a great mentor as she never just hands you the answers. She has this gift for asking the right questions that help you figure things out for yourself. It’s no surprise to me that she’s doing this now—she has the perfect mix of deep academic knowledge and a lot of patience. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with your research and need someone who genuinely cares about your progress, you’re in great hands with her.
Being a medical student is stressful enough, and she was a lifesaver in helping me organize my thoughts and make sense of my data. She really cares about you actually learning the material rather than just getting the assignment done. She’s great at explaining things in a way that actually clicks. Highly recommended if you need someone who knows the pressure of academia and how to help you get through it.
I’ve known Sanja for a long time and have seen her navigate the academic world from the inside. She has a real talent for making complex research sound simple and logical. Whether it's sorting out a tricky methodology or just helping someone find their voice in their writing, she’s the person I’d turn to. She’s extremely smart but, more importantly, she’s patient and knows exactly how to guide someone without doing the work for them. If you’re feeling stuck with your research, she’s a fantastic mentor.
I came to Sanja for help with my Master’s thesis in Psychology. I knew the theory from my classes, but I was completely lost when it came to planning the research and doing the statistics.
Sanja was a huge help. She showed me how to organize my research properly, pick the right methods, and actually understand my statistics. She’s great at taking a big, overwhelming project and breaking it down into simple steps. If you’re struggling with your thesis, she’s exactly who you need. She really helped me feel confident about my work and taught me how to defend it when the time came.Visualizza tutte le raccomandazioni
