Riguardo ZAHIRA
I’m Zahira, a native English speaker from South Africa currently living and teaching in Rome. I’m a qualified Cambridge CELTA teacher with a passion for language and helping others gain confidence in English.
My desire to teach English started when I began travelling the world many years ago. During my travels, I quickly realised how essential English is as a global language, and how it allows people to connect almost anywhere in the world. That experience made me appreciate the value of being able to communicate freely while travelling, and it inspired me to give that same opportunity to others.
As a native speaker with the right qualifications, I felt motivated to share my knowledge and help people achieve their English goals, especially for travel, where communication can make such a difference in confidence and independence.
I love seeing the moment when something clicks for a student, when they finally understand something they’ve been struggling with. It’s especially rewarding when they pass an English exam they were nervous about, and I receive messages telling me they passed, makes me so happy and proud of their progress.

Hi! I’m Zahira, a native English speaker from South Africa currently living and teaching in Rome. I’m a qualified English teacher with a CELTA certification from Cambridge, and I love helping students become more confident and fluent in English.
My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you want to improve your grammar, pronunciation, conversation skills, or overall confidence, I’ll create lessons that help you feel comfortable and motivated.
I work with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I also have experience teaching students with ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning difficulties, always adapting lessons to support each student in the best way possible.
I am currently teaching English at a leading business-focused university in Rome as well as a well-established English school based in Rome.
I can also help you prepare for exams such as IELTS, Trinity, Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE), TOEFL, PET, KET, and BULATS.
In addition to my teaching qualifications, I hold bachelor’s degrees in business management and financial accounting, which also allows me to support students looking to improve their English for business, professional communication, or academic purposes.
In our lessons, I focus on making things finally click for you, no stress, no confusion, just step-by-step understanding that builds real confidence.
