Riguardo Debbie
Hi, I’m Debbie, a native British English teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience and a varied international professional background.
Before becoming an English teacher, I spent 11 years working in chemistry, including working as a Research Chemist for a large multinational company. I then changed direction and spent several years teaching sports while travelling and working across five continents. After returning to the business world, I worked for two start-up companies before finally moving into English teaching.
This varied background has given me experience in science, business, international communication and teaching — all of which I bring into my English lessons.

My teaching style
My lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to each student. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so we focus on what you need to achieve your goals.
A major focus of my teaching is developing fluency and expanding vocabulary, but, importantly, I help you use new vocabulary naturally in different contexts rather than simply learning lists of words.
We can work on speaking, pronunciation, grammar, accuracy and natural expressions while discussing subjects that are relevant and interesting to you.
If you're preparing for an exam, I can also help you understand exactly what is required and develop the strategies and language skills you need to achieve your target score.
Business & Professional English
My own professional experience means I understand the challenges of communicating in English in an international working environment.
I can help you develop the English you need for meetings, presentations, interviews, negotiations, networking, emails and professional conversations, as well as technical and scientific communication.
