Riguardo Joseph
I’m a native English speaker and biology-trained educator with close to a decade of experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Biology and Physics at accredited Italian schools, and nearly ten years before that teaching scientific English to university students and researchers in Italy.
What I bring that most English tutors can’t: I understand the subject matter. IGCSE Biology isn’t just a language challenge — it’s a conceptual one too. I’ve taught the curriculum, I know the exam style, and I can explain both the science and the English simultaneously.
My background includes undergraduate cell biology research in the United States, university-level general and scientific classes and lectures in the Universities of Ferrara and Salento, private work with researchers, academics, professors, and professionals. Cambridge IGCSE teaching at several accredited Italian licei, and a TEFL certification with High Distinction.

My specialty is where language and science meet. If you’re an Italian student preparing for IGCSE exams, a researcher who must write or speak in English, or an advanced learner who finds standard English courses too slow or too generic, I’m probably the right tutor for you. I can help with your publications and presentations, or with understanding complex cross-disciplinary materials in English.
I offer: IGCSE Biology and Physics preparation (individuals and small groups). Scientific and academic English for researchers and university students. Advanced conversation and writing (B2-C2). Cambridge Certificate courses (FCE, CAE, IGCSE).
Online lessons only. Based in Salento, Italy, familiar with the Italian education system and comfortable switching to French or Italian to clarify concepts.
