Riguardo Jeroen
Since I was a kid I have always liked learning new languages, but also never liked the old-fashioned way in which they are thought in school. I think language is not just a set of grammar rules with a vocabulary, instead I think language is an integral part of a nation's culture, it is an expression of emotion and not just a data set.
Over the years I have developed a standard method to start understanding the basics of a new language, and now I whish to help others understand the surprising logic that strange languages like Dutch usually have.

Dutch may seem like an impossible language, but together we will focus on what makes the Dutch language actually quite easy.
Instead of grinding through grammar lessons we will learn the basics through simple conversations or reading pieces from pop culture and comparing it to what happens in English and Italian.
The difference with conventional language learning is that we will focus on how Dutch works in real life rather than just in theory. Learning Dutch from a book, won't make you understand a thing when someone talks to you. I want you to learn the language by hearing what goes on and by understanding how the accent works, as this can be one of the major obstacles for ever having a conversation with a Dutchie. In this sense we will follow the "Delft method" which is a modern and more natural way to learn languages. With this I will mix my own experiences with learning English, French, German, Polish and Italian.
In a typical lesson we will hold a small conversation (which may start out with a simple "good morning, how are you doing?"), and then read a specific piece of Dutch together that introduces something new about either Dutch grammer or typical expressions (there are a lot in Dutch!).
The lessons are intended for anyone from high school level upwards, knowledge of English helps but is not necessary.
