Riguardo Ahmed
I am by names of Shamirah Nakakembo, a 21-year-old Ugandan who grew up speaking different languages. Moving abroad made me realise that knowing another language is very helpful. However, it was also a shock when I realised that English is not used everywhere, and that made me figure out how I would now start learning more languages which would never end. I had to think of “how will I use my English then?”, ”how about I teach it to others”, ”how about having fun and building a connection while teaching it”. And that’s how I came to think of teaching English in a way of helping one improve in the speech and written. With me you are not just learning, we will be sharing stories, perfecting our grammar and not having to feel stressed about learning a new language because I know how it feels and I have been there. I usually ask how you feel before we start with anything so that I can have a way of approach through my teaching.
I start with recaps of the last lesson to remember some information.
I do enjoy storytelling through my teaching because it makes one not to cram but to understand how to use the grammar as well as keep practicing with the same or different stories.
