Hi, my name is Rita!
and I’m 7 years sober.
Just kidding.
I’m 29 years sober! I was born in Cosenza on December 24th in 1994 and I’m a teetotaler ever since. Exactly: nondrinker. YES, I do have fun too and NO, I don’t get only one present both for Christmas and birthday. My relatives are weird, but not stingy. I asked myself what this cover letter’s tone of voice could be like, and what kind of emotional hook I could use to captivate and engage the reader and I told myself this family thing would be effective. Actually, here I play my trump card: my mother. Italy is a republic founded on moms, innit? My mother is the cheerleader-kind-of-mom antithesis: I toiled for her “bravo”. A contemporary Fräulein Rottenmeier, but with her Dr.Martens on because she’s young and youthful, who taught me to be dutiful with such rigour. She says that at the age of 2 I could already speak perfectly. At the age of 5 - she says also - I talked too much. When I was school-aged I learned how to cut down on that because talking is not allowed in class and above all because I learned writing. When I was 14, I won my first writing contest: I got second place in the seventh international literary competition held by “Sibariti nel mondo” in Corigliano Calabro, and I was rewarded with a 3-week study trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mother Rottenmeier, back then, said: “Are you sure you won?” Funny. If verbal language in particular was my biggest interest, soon my attention was grabbed by foreign languages which were a tool to appease my yearning for conversations. I have a degree in Comparative Languages and Humanities with a final grade of 104/110 from the University of Naples “L’Orientale” where I studied English and Chinese. One hundred four: a number indissolubly linked to that law of February 5, 1992. I’ll spare you my mom’s joke after the committee officially announced my graduation. As a student, I used to write poems and I also published three of them. You won’t believe it: one of these is dedicated to my mom and its title is “Un viaggio”. Meanwhile I started my blog, “L'Oya del tè”, which like I always say - to tell you the truth I said it once but it sounded evocative - is a space I found my own on this mistery land. I don’t have any navigation map, I just check the net and push fools not to take the bait in this sea of informations we live in. Do I believe I’m sailor? I’d rather say it’s my way to stay afloat, which is a different kettle of fish. Even my mother, who wanted me to be a doctor, was forced to acknowledge I am good at penning, even when it involves Mandarin. Yet she sparingly compliments me. When I’m not writing, I’m singing or I’m eating or I’m using my voice as a speaker for SMC Radio. I’m not only a chatterbox. I’m also meticulous, proactive, and I’m always willing to learn. I am like this because - and I’m not sure this was on purpose - my mom raised me that way. She who read this letter and told me: “You should’ve been more formal, you won’t get attention”. Aw, her cute mannerism of being wrong...

Il mio metodo “RITAgli di lingua” consiste nello studio della grammatica inglese osservandone l’utilizzo pragmatico nella vita quotidiana, quindi sfruttando ritagli di serie TV, film, cartoni animati, interviste a celebrità, contenuti di content creator su Meta e YouTube et similia in lingua originale. Tengo le lezioni da remoto e mi adatto agli orari più consoni per lo studente.
