Growing up most of my teachers were not an actual English user but just a trained teacher with little knowledge of the language. Ultimately what I learned from them did not come in handy later in life.
Also the huge age gap betwee the teacher and the students made it hard for us to bond with them and actually enjoy learning hours.

I have immersed myself with English media and English speaking people since I was a child so I have a good grasp of the way native people actually talk,however considering the importance of English to my major(medicine) my knowledge of academic terms is more than a normal English teacher.
