Riguardo Maddalena
I am an English tutor for Italians and an Italian tutor for foreigners. I have experience teaching students of different ages and levels in formal and non-formal settings, both in Italy and abroad.
I have been passionate about foreign languages and cultures since childhood. This passion has led me to live and travel in many countries, and obtain a BA in Foreign Languages (English and Spanish) and a MA in International Relations. Learning a new language opens up opportunities to broaden our understanding of and experience with the world.
I excel at creating a relaxed and motivating environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning and improvement. Every student is unique and has their own path, so I offer personalised, 1:1 lessons focused on individual goals. I bring professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm to every lesson with the aim of helping you experience Italian as a useful and enjoyable tool.
My students say I should be a full-time teacher, but I like that teaching remains a passion of mine (at least for now!).

My Italian lessons for foreigners are designed to make learning Italian a lively and enjoyable experience. We will cover grammar, listening, communication and cultural aspects.
My method: I take a practical and participative approach to help you use Italian right away. The goal is to help you understand and communicate in Italian naturally, so you'll be ready to immerse yourself in our ‘Belpaese'!
Typical lesson: each class begins with a brief recap of the previous lesson, followed by a focus (vocabulary, listening, speaking or grammar) and practical, personalised exercises.
Teaching specifics: my lessons are highly interactive, employing both formal and informal teaching methods. I also offer constant feedback to adapt the course to your needs as they arise.
Who the lessons are for:
- native English and Spanish speakers, absolute beginners (A1/A2) who want to start speaking Italian;
- adults and teenagers of any native language who already have an intermediate level (B1) and want to improve it.
