Hi guys!
My name's Matteo and I'm an Italian teacher.
I was born and raised in Piombino, a small town in the mid-nothern part of Italy. Whan I turned 19 I moved to Pisa to start my university journey.
My personal passions are languages, literature, philosophy, and politics. But… I’m Italian, so of course I love food and cuisine too!
To me teaching is one of the most beautiful and interesting jobs that exist, as it allows me to pass my knowledge, interests, and passions on to others.
I’m a fully qualified teacher of Italian as a second language.
I teach students at any level of Italian, so whether you are a beginner or more advanced we'll create together a personalised learning plan that suits you, with advice and guidance from my teaching experience.
Together we can:
listen to audio and music to improve your comprehension;
read articles to improve your pronunciation;
do quizzes to test your knowledge;
revise written texts and grammar to improve structure;
️ speak about new and different topics to improve your fluency;
️ write short texts or stories to learn new vocabulary.
The main purpose of my lessons is to make the learning process dynamic. The first lesson'll help me understand your level and learning goals so I can create a specific program tailor-made for you.
I understand that for beginners and sometimes for advanced speakers it can be intimidating, scary and sometimes embarrassing to speak a foreign language. It’s very normal and I understand this from my own journey learning foreign languages, such as English (I'm C2 certified), Spanish (I'm C2 certified), Brazilian Portugues and French. No stress if you feel nervous, we will create a relaxed environment to learn Italian step by step whilst of course enjoying the learning experience.
So, if you’ve never studied Italian before, no worries! We can start speaking in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portugues and French – from an entry level – and then over the time we'll build up your vocabulary and very soon you'll be able to speak good Italian.
