Riguardo Marwan
Hi! My name is Marwan, and I'm Lebanese-Estonian, born and raised in Beirut, where I attended an international high school before moving to the United States for university.
I recently graduated from Harvard University with High Honors, where I studied Economics and Environmental Science & Public Policy and wrote an undergraduate thesis on corporate sustainability and environmental performance. I'm now pursuing a Master's in Finance at Bocconi University in Milan.
Beyond academics, I've worked in investment management in both New York and the Netherlands before moving to Milan.
I've also had the opportunity to teach students of different ages and academic levels in Lebanon, the US, Estonia, the Netherlands, China, and Japan, primarily focusing on English and leadership development. These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently and that good teaching begins with understanding the individual.
As a tutor, I'm patient, approachable, and genuinely passionate about education. I believe learning should go beyond memorization, and I enjoy helping students build confidence, think independently, and develop a genuine curiosity for what they're studying.

My approach to tutoring is centered around understanding each student's individual needs. As a recent Harvard graduate now pursuing an MSc in Finance at Bocconi University, I aim to make learning engaging and tailored to each student.
My teaching method: I believe every student learns differently, so I take time to understand their strengths, challenges, and goals. I focus on building genuine understanding and encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence.
What a typical lesson looks like: We begin by identifying any questions or difficulties, then work through concepts together using clear explanations, practical examples, and interactive exercises. Lessons are flexible and adapted to the student's pace and progress.
What I offer: I specialize in Economics, English, academic writing, and US university application support, including personal statements, essays, and interview preparation. I also share insights from my own experience navigating the American university system as an international student.
Who my lessons are for: I work with middle school, high school, and university students, as well as adults looking to strengthen their English or academic skills. All levels are welcome!
Above all, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing a genuine interest in what they're learning.
