Riguardo Chiara
My interest for helping foreigners to learn Italian comes from some school years around 15 years ago, but it remained for many years a passion that I did not have the courage to pursue as a real career.
The first big step was starting collaborating with some Facebook groups for Iranians wanting to learn Italian towards the end of 2011. It was in coincidence with the beginning of my curiosity around Iran and the Persian language: it was a way to practice my language skills while helping them at fixing some mistakes.
My way of explaining things proved to be quite effective, so I ended up proposing my own group in 2013, which reached up to more than 4000 members - it still exists, but is not active anymore.
Although, between 2015 and 2018 because of university, both my learning pace in Persian slowed down and my activity on that group - which remained no more than a hobby.
Once I finished university and came to Brussels for working, I resumed my activities, but now on Instagram.
In 2020. in coincidence with the first wave of the pandemic, I started receiving requests for online lessons, which I had never given nor proposed before.
I liked giving lessons after my usual daily job so much that I finally started gaining enough confidence to imagine a future beyond the normal office job I had. I would have reached the same result in any case at some point, but Covid-19 sped everything up.
In 2021 I quit my job and took a gap year.
In 2022 I officially registered as a self-employed in Belgium.

I tested on my skin getting out of the office supertired and having to spend 2 or more hours in a French class after a workday.
Of course I was finishing the lessons even more mentally destroyed.
What could I retain from those hours if my brain was working barely at 15% of its potential?
And let's not forget all the times I had overtime and had to miss the class (losing the money I had paid).
️ Hence why I decided to work asynchronously. What does it mean?
I send you some sets of exercises per week with the relevant explanation. They can be 3 * 3 times a week or 4 ones twice.
I expect you to read what you do or to directly talk freely (it depends) in some voice messages on WhatsApp.
This way you are going to actively use the language for sure and you can send them whenever you can best concentrate, be it before sleeping or before work early in the morning. I don't care. I answer the same day or the next one
I answer mostly orally so that you can practice listening, I mix Italian and English according to the level and I organise the voice messages so that you can easily listening again to some specific parts (so, don't expect 10-minute long messages).
