Ciao! I am Desiree, a dedicated and qualified Italian tutor with a Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures (specializing in English and Chinese).
My academic background and passion for linguistics give me a unique perspective on language learning: I know exactly how the brain acquires a new language, and I know firsthand the challenges and triumphs of the journey.
Because I have studied complex languages like Chinese and English, I have developed a highly structured, empathetic, and effective teaching method. I don't just "speak Italian"; I understand the mechanics behind it. This allows me to break down complex Italian grammar rules into simple, logical steps, often using English as a bridge to make concepts click instantly for my students.

I’m Desiree, a native Italian speaker, and I am here to help you unlock the beauty of Italian!
Learning a language shouldn't be just about memorizing boring grammar tables. It’s about connecting with the culture, the people, the food, and the art. My goal is to make you feel confident and comfortable speaking Italian from day one.

Absolute Beginners: Want to start from scratch? We’ll build a solid foundation together.
Travelers & Expats: Need survival Italian or help integrating into daily life in Italy? Let's focus on practical, everyday vocabulary.
My Methodology:
Tailored to YOU: The first lesson is all about you. We will discuss your goals, interests, and learning style to create a personalized roadmap.
Grammar without tears: I explain grammar in a logical, simple way, always tied to real-life contexts and practical examples.
Culture & Immersion: We won't just learn the language; we'll explore Italian customs, regional differences, gestures, food, and cinema.
How do we learn?
Online Lessons: Via Zoom/Skype. Flexible scheduling to fit your timezone.
Homework & Feedback: Optional exercises between lessons to keep the momentum going, with detailed feedback on your pronunciation and syntax.
