Riguardo Miriam
Hi! My name is Miriam and I am an Italian native speaker. I graduated in International Studies of Development and Cooperation at the University of Turin, the city where I was born and raised. Turin, is located at the foot of the Alps in the North West of Italy and I love it deeply because it is a dynamic and innovative city, a hotbed of ideas, dreams, and hopes. I have always had a strong inclination for language in particular in its most creative forms, for this reason, I worked for a certain period with an advertising communication studio and with a contemporary art foundation. My passion for language was strengthened while writing my first-degree thesis in which I investigated the manipulation of language related to environmental and social sustainability. This research pushed me to continue my studies and to specialize in Sustainability of the Territory and the Agri-Food Supply Chain. I speak Italian, English, Greek, and a little bit of French. Finally, while waiting to know your interests, I mention some of mine: I like writing, sewing, going for walks, cooking, I love design, photography and visual art. I speak Italian, English, Greek, and a little bit of French. I have traveled extensively in Italy and Europe and during those trips I met a lot of different cultures and people. Often during my lessons, these people and projects are the protagonists together with other curiosities about Italy. With each new student, first of all, I listen to his/her needs, desires, and objectives to realize a tailor-made learning path. During my lessons, you can breathe a fun and peaceful atmosphere. I use different tools, like texts, extracted from textbooks, essays or novels, newspaper articles, videos, songs, and films. I speak to my students and ask them to speak, I write and ask them to write, I read and ask them to read. In broad terms, we work on three levels: the first level is the construction of an appropriate lexicon according to the various contexts, personal, working, formal, informal, creative, ironic and, so on. The second level is the stimulation of both oral and written language comprehension and the third level is the exercise of the ability to express oneself orally and in writing.
